My Shop

I work exclusively with the building, restoration and maintenance of string basses, contrabassettos (semi-acoustics) and cellos. I try to divide my activities by alternating periods dedicated to construction with periods dedicated to restoration work.

My atelier is in Rio de Janeiro, in the charming neighborhood of Santa Teresa. It's a very special location, being one of the oldest residential neighborhoods of the city, which emerged when the old nobility expanded upward out of the center of town. Today it's no longer a "noble" area, but much of the characteristic aura remains, and is visible in the local architecture. And it's certainly still one of the areas most connected to artisanal and artistic production. There's hardly anything nicer than being here in Santa Teresa at the end of an afternoon, especially when it comes time for the spectacular sunset. The view of the city, combined with a maroon and rose tinted sky, is truly enchanting. Many times one or two clients take their time here in the atelier, just to be able to enjoy this view. I, naturally, join them! Please feel free to do the same!

My work area is not very large, so I don't have space to keep much material in stock. Therefore I make frequent purchases, in order to always have the material I will need handy for any orders that come in.

Usually, for very involved servicing, I require an appointment to be made in advance. Otherwise, I'm always on duty for emergency work.
